Plot: Chief Phillips is a multi-layered examination of the 2009 commandeering of the U.s. compartment ship Maersk Alabama by a group of Somali privateers. It is - through chief Paul Greengrass' notable lens - at the same time a beat pounding thriller, and a perplexing picture of the heap impacts of globalization. The film concentrates on the relationship between the Alabama's authoritative leader, Captain Richard Phillips (two time Academy Award®-victor Tom Hanks), and the Somali privateer chief, Muse (Barkhad Abdi), who takes him prisoner. Phillips and Muse are situated on an unstoppable crash course when Muse and his team target Phillips' unarmed ship; in the following standoff, 145 miles off the Somali coast, both men will end up at the kindness of powers outside their ability to control.
